(picture) Norman Kern is an award winning sound designer/composer for theatre and film. He was trained by the late Dr. Richie Moore (Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, etc.) and worked with well-known artists such as Eddie Money, Bill Graham Presents, and so on. With over thirty years of experiences in the entertaining industry, his theatre credits include many World and Regional Premieres, and his feature films are currently all in distributions (Warner Bros., Amazon, Netflix, and Blockbuster). Artists he worked with include many on and off Broadway directors and playwrights such as Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel, Oscar nominated Mark Rydell (On Golden Pond, The Cowboys) and Elaine May (The Birdcage, Primary Colors), Tony Award winning Steven Sater/Duncan Sheik, five productions with Shakespeare Santa Cruz artistic director Paul Whitworth, and over twenty collaborations with Lee Sankowich (One Flew Over the Cookoo's Nest). Composer/original music credits include M. Butterfly by David Henry Hwang, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Dale Wasserman, Orson’s Shadow by Austin Pendleton, On the Verge by Eric Overmyer, Marvin's Room by Scott McPherson, Classic: Desire Under The Elms by Eugene O’Neill, Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams, Two for the Seesaw by William Gibson, Thriller: Killer Joe by Tracy Letts, Communicating Doors by Alan Ayckbourn, Rocket Man by Steven Dietz , and four World Premieres: The Right Kind of People by Charles Grodin, Charlie Cox Runs with Scissors by Michael McKeever, and The Last Schwartz, Fortune by Deborah Zoe Laufer.
