Where Your Ears Become Your Eyes

Our idea for audio plays came from the years we have spent in both theatre, and film.  Sound we believe lets the audience become more involved with the story, bringing an excitement to the action that is happening as the story unfolds.

Audio Play is a dramatic performance written for the stage, but produced as an audio format. Recorded in a professional recording studio. Through the use of actors, director, sound design, and music, the play is brought to life through sound. The roots of audio play is radio drama and live theatre, but utilizing the same principles as a film production.  The goal is to put the listening audience in the middle of the performance, and allow the sound to create the world in which the story lives.

Audio play is similar to audio theatre and audiobook but not quite the same. The following is wikipedia's definitions for audio theatre and audiobooks.

wikipedia.org - audio theatre

"Audio theatre is a dramatic performance written and performed specifically for audio presentation. It had its greatest popularity on radio, before television was introduced, during the period known as the Golden Age of Radio, and as a result has often been called "Radio Theatre" or "radio drama" although as a form, it is independent of its medium."

wikipedia.org -audiobook

"Audiobook is a recording that is primarily of the spoken word as opposed to music. While it is often based on a recording of commercially available printed material, this is not always the case; nor is this required to fit the definition of an audiobook, which is why "audiobook" is one word rather than two. It was not intended to be descriptive of the word "book" but is rather a recorded spoken program in its own right and not necessarily an audio version of a book."
