The Recording Studio

Our recording studios are located in san francisco east bay area specializing in all aspects of digital audio, sound engineering, music recording, editing, mixing, and CD mastering. I enjoy working with musicians being one myself for over 30 years - started out as a trumpet player in grammar school. Pretty strange thing for a five year old to say "Miles Davis", when people asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. I used to practice the trumpet until my lips were swollen and sore, just trying to get Miles's tone. It taught me at an early age how much work it is to be a musician. This is the reason that I don't let musicians down when they come to me to record their heart and soul in their music .

I started as an engineer recording live sound for the band I was in. It's not easy to dial in a band and to play the guitar at the same time. We decided to record our demo in a local studio. The owner/engineer was complaining about the long working hours. I asked if he wanted to train someone, and I started my training the next day. I am one of those who learn best hands on. For the first six months, I was the second at ATR Studios under John Rowe and Dr. Richie Moore. I basically lived at the studio learning everything I could from two of the best, I believed. John Rowe was one of the best engineer/musicians I know, and Dr. Richie Moore worked on the White Album. I learned that it isn't what you have as far as equipment but how you use it. Listen to the old Beatles Albums they still hold up today even though they were produced on old four track machines.

Here are a few recordings to download.

Nine Pound Grind, a band that I'm currently producing. The CD should be out by this summer. This is a pre-production recording.

Robert Otey, a local SF musician who I think has a unique sound.

Crooked Trail

The Seventh Bowl

Enjoy!
