THE STORY: Connie Aisling, a psychic who has a vision of a crime, and Stewart Grant, a skeptical detective, have to work together to save the life of a young child. At the same time, they each have to face the horrors of their pasts as they are pulled to an unforgettable climax.
Cybele May (Playwright) her collection of one-act plays, The Parking Lot Plays was heralded by the Los Angeles Times as "A refreshing authorial voice ... an epic survivor's monologue recalling Jean Cocteau ... a sardonic attack worthy of Shirley Jackson." Her play A Grave Mistake has also been produced as an award-winning short film, entropy, directed by Daniel T. Green. The Redeemer is the second in a triptych based loosely on Sophocles' The Theban Plays. Ms. May is a graduate of Humboldt State University (BA) and Carnegie Mellon University (MFA). She has worked as a script reader for television, served as Literary Associate for the Ojai Playwrights Conference and now writes novels and reviews candy. Norman Kern (Director) is a multi award winning professional working in the entertainment industry for 30 years. As a director, Norman has the sophisticated approach to the heart of the story and collaborates with the actors and design team to create unique storytelling experiences. A multi-instrumentalist with recording engineer training by the legendary Dr. Richie Moore (Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, the Rolling Stones, etc), Norman's cinematic approach to sound design creates images and places the audience in the center of the story. Founding Crazy Dream Sound Productions has allowed Norman to perfect the storytelling for theatre and film. His credits include over one hundred live theatre productions and films (starring Hill Harper, Brock Peters, etc.). All feature films are currently in distribution. Anna Bullard (Connie Aisling) regional theatre credits include San Jose Rep/Arizona Theatre Company co-premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, Moot the Messenger and Uncle Sam's Satiric Spectacular for the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Blackbird at American Conservatory Theater (Una u/s), Ambition Facing West for TheatreWorks and The Mousetrap and Nunsense for Dorset Theatre Festival. In the SF Bay Area, her credits include Lee Sankowich's production of Killer Joe at Marin Theatre Company, The Hopper Collection at Magic Theatre and Enchanted April with Porchlight Theatre Company (Bay Area Critics Circle Award, Best Ensemble). She received her BA in English and Theatre from Whitman College and trained at The Actors Theatre of Louisville. Darren Bridgett (Stewart Grant) has worked extensively on stage and in film. His stage credits include performances with ACT, TheatreWorks, Laguna Playhouse, California Shakespeare Festival, Marin Shakespeare Festival, Marin Theatre Company, The Magic Theatre, and the Orlando Shakespeare Festival among others. Some favorite roles include Hamlet in Hamlet, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Doug In Blue Surge, Sergius in Arms and the Man, Gene in The Last Schwartz with Jill Eikenberry and Michael Tucker, and the man in the two person stage adaptation of The Turn of the Screw. On the radio, he can be heard in the NPR series Riverwalk Jazz as the voice of Bix Beiderbecke. His film credits include a starring role in “Black August” opposite Gary Dourdan of CSI, Read You Like a Book with Danny Glover and Karen Black, Coastal, One Way to Valhalla, Ruby’s Tuesday, Death and Taxes, Gambling, and the soon to be released feature Stephanie’s Image starring Melissa Leo.
