Theatre Reflects Our CultureTheatre is essential to understanding our culture, and who we are, as well as where we came from. Stage plays reflect social issues that are some times difficult to discuss. Many playwrights look beyond the boundaries that seem to govern our world to bring us fresh ideas and new stories. Plot lines in plays are not a formula they are most often written from the heart of the playwright. Issues and emotions, and how we deal with them are the essential back bone of a play. The magic of theatre is that the audience is in the same room with the actors, feeling what they feel, seeing what they see, and hearing what they hear, that is what makes theater unique. Sound in theatre can take us deeper into the world the characters are living in, giving us a reality of what is happening. An audio play is taking that a step farther, by creating a reality in the listeners mind through the use of sound, the stage is no longer in front of us, but all around us. Ones imagination creates the stage in which the characters live. Giving the listener a stake in what is happening, hopefully stirring the child in our souls. Thousands of plays are written every year. However, only a handful of them are produced. Are we missing the next future Tennessee Williams, Eugene O’Neill, and Arthur Miller? We will never know, but that won’t stop us here at Crazy Dream Sound Productions from looking, and just maybe we will find the next great American playwright, and imagine what it would be like to hear that playwrights work for the first time.
